When in basic training, there are different duties assigned to recruits. There's the "Sheriff" who acts as second in command of his recruits and then the head of the recruits, then of course the RDC's. What are these names?

I'm talking about the "unofficial" ranks given to recruits a couple weeks into basic. Recruits are given different responsibilities. Not a rank per say, but some like an XO and CO.

That's exactly it, Yeoman was the one in charge of paer work and what not. The Sheriff was the nick name given to the recruit responsible for keeping order. Then there was 1 other recruit was was given the responsibility of basically everything. He was most likely the most charismatic and intelligent recruit.

And the Master at Arms was the "Sheriff". Again, just a nick name we gave him. And I may have typed it wrong, but I know the RDC is not a recruit, he's the Recruit Division Commander.

NO such thing as a Sheriff cowboy, but there is a Master at Arms that is basically in charge of cleaning the berthing and guarding the cutlass while the RPOC is getting their chow from the mess line.

RPOC =Recruit Petty Officer in Charge
AROC = Assistant Recruit Petty Officer in Charge
Yeoman = The right YN really runs the division 24/7
Medical Yeoman
Dental Yeoman
Starboard Watch
Port Watch
EPO = Educational Petty Officer
RPO = Religious Petty Officer
Ships Flag
Giadon
Ships Staff

RDC's are not recruits they are in charge and they are Second Class Petty Officers and above.

I don't know if things have changed, but I remember the command structure when I was in boot camp in Orlando in 1987.

Below the RDCs (called company commanders back then) there was a recruit chief petty officer (RCPO), a master at arms (temporary rank of 1st class), two recruit watch officers (temp. rank of 2nd class) and a yeoman (temp. rank of 3rd class). Are recruits had the actual rank of recruit, E-1.

Some, like me, were given advanced ranks at the end of boot camp. One recruit in each company, the outstanding recruit, was promoted to E-2. I, as a prospective nuc, was promoted to E-3 and received back pay from the start of boot camp.

As an ex Naval personal..the enlisted ranks in RTC start at
The lowest pay grade E1 But you get a first chevron at Third Class Petty Officer,then work your way to second chevron a Second Class Petty Officer, then after awhile you get Three Chevrons and get the coveted 1st Class Petty Officer.
The achievement after that is to be a Chief, Senior Chief, and then the highest in the enlisted rank Master Chief.
The others are Officers and not enlisted at all. I was Airman Recruit. Not Seaman no offense to the Vietnam veteran but I have been in more recently than him.
You will probably be at RTC with an enlisted trainer who is at least a Chief.

its been awhile since bc, but we had a rcpo, rlpo, maa, yeoman, and a religious leader. there is all kinds of duties you'll be assigned and people will probably get replaced at least once or twice. as far as official rank, everyone is a e1 until you graduate bc and then if you signed up and garunteed a rank (e3 or e3) you'll be advanced upon bc graduation. if you were prior service in the army or something like that and were a e4 or higher, after graduating bc you'll reattain that rank dependant on how long you were out. sometimes though they drop you one rank.
