I understand your reluctance in taking that most important step of liberating yourself from the chains of fear and superstition.
I was once where you are now but once I got liberated I felt relieved and proud of my achievement. And I fear no more.
Do the right thing, for YOURSELF.

I'm an atheist. Born and raised as one.

But I hate atheist preachers just as much as Christian preachers.

Come on, at least try to make it sound like you're really wanting to know something. Preaching is so silly, really.

I am already proud and liberated and I certainly have no fears in such an uncertain world. I have lived not believing in God and now I have done the right thing for MYSELF. I do believe in God, no fears.

I was raised a catholic and gradually drifted away. There was no point where I actually had any "realization" that I had become an athiest; and there was never any thought of apprehension. I simply evolved toward a different perspective. In a way your question involves a contradiction. If one was afraid of god(s),they would have to believe in them to fear them. If they don't believe in them or it,they would obviously feel no fear.

I'm very happy for you. However preaching to others is no good, spirituality is a personal journey. I also don't think a non-believer is necessarily living in chains of fear and superstition. What's with all the doom and gloom?

I didn't have to stop believing in God I am liberated. The truth has set me free! I have done the right thing, and it's not, to stop believing in God, its learning the truth!

That's a great question. Evidence can mount, but never be entered because of fear. One irony is that I have heard that the opposite of fear is faith - so in order to stop believing in God, one has to have more faith than fear.

Wow, what was your religion? Why would you believe something based on superstition?

My faith is based on reason and on personal experience. Fortunately, I have not experienced fear or superstition.

You can not understand what is means by fear to God. It means fear to commit sin or fear to do bad things. Why lost your faith to God You will lost nothing in believing God asnd you gain something in haveing faith in Him.

You will soon repent of whatr you did. That is not considered victory on your side b ut lost of your right for salvation.
Rom 1:17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written. The just shall live by faith.
Rom 1:18 For the wrath of God is revealed from heaven against all ungodliness and unrighteousness of men, who hold the truth in unrighteousness;
Rom 1:19 Because that which may be known of God is manifest in them; for God hath showed it unto them.
Rom 1:20 For the invisible things of him from the creation of the world are clearly seen, being understood by the things that are made, even his eternal power and Godhead; so that they are without excuse:
Rom 1:21 Because that, when they knew God, they glorified him not as God, neither were thankful; but became vain in their imaginations, and their foolish heart was darkened.
Rom 1:22 Professing themselves to be wise, they became fools,
Rom 1:23 And changed the glory of the incorruptible God into an image made like to corruptible man, and to birds, and fourfooted beasts, and creeping things.
Rom 1:24 Wherefore God also gave them up to uncleanness through the lusts of their own hearts, to dishonor their own bodies between themselves:
Rom 1:25 Who changed the truth of God into a lie, and worshiped and served the creature more than the Creator, who is blessed forever. Amen.
Rom 1:26 For this cause God gave them up unto vile affections: for even their women did change the natural use into that which is against nature:
Rom 1:27 And likewise also the men, leaving the natural use of the woman, burned in their lust one toward another; men with men working that which is unseemly, and receiving in themselves that recompense of their error which was meet.
Rom 1:28 And even as they did not like to retain God in their knowledge, God gave them over to a reprobate mind, to do those things which are not convenient;
Rom 1:29 Being filled with all unrighteousness, fornication, wickedness, covetousness, maliciousness; full of envy, murder, debate, deceit, malignity; whisperers,
Rom 1:30 Backbiters, haters of God, despiteful, proud, boasters, inventors of evil things, disobedient to parents,
Rom 1:31 Without understanding, covenant breakers, without natural affection, implacable, unmerciful:
Rom 1:32 Who knowing the judgment of God, that they which commit such things are worthy of death, not only do the same, but have pleasure in them that do them.

Aw man u gon to hell? NOOOO!

When I was little, I was afraid I wasn't saved because its so easy, so I used to do it over again just to make sure I was ok.
But now, putting all childish things aside, What's your issue with eternal life?! If you stop believing, you never believed to begin with!
