I've noticed people get more thumbs up/down on average in R&S compared with other areas I've been to on Answers. Polls and Surveys forum doesn't seem to have those kind of reactions. LGBT category does at times, but it's usually with the Religion and Spirituality. More people may lose points on R&S because religion can be a sensitive area for many, so the chances of being reported and/or losing points may be greater.

When someone reports your answer as a violation of the TOS you lose the points. I lost some the other day so I checked it out. You can challenge it though and if you show that it was not a violation they give your points back and reinstate your answer. But it usually is too late to be in for best answer.

I guess it does sober us up a little to realize that not everyone agrees with our point of view. I still say to speak (write) the truth and hope it does do someone some good even if your answer is not chosen as the best by the asker. The goal should be to educate wherever possible since those points really do not indicate whether you know anything or not. Hope it does someone some good.

I got reported several times just because someone disagreed with me. And Yahoo has never got back to me on those reporting abuses.
