I had a dream where i was walking with my ex boyfriend and he grabbed my hand out of the blue and we held hands for a long time and he smiled at me like he did when we first went out. But then we came to a crack in the sidewalk and we let go of eachothers hands until we crossed over the crack. After that we held hands until the dream ended.
Just a stupid dream, or is it symbolic in any way?

I think most dreams have meaning. This sounds like your subconscience maybe showing your growth in relationships in general. For example, your dream begins with you and your boyfriend sharing he same smile and joy when you first started going out. Obviously, the crack in the sidewalk is subliminal of your break up. Finally, the fact you are both holding hands again at the end isn't a hint you want to get back together with him (though the romantic in us all probably wants to believe that), but I think you are holding hands with him at the end of the dream because you are comfortable with the resolution of the relationship. Perhaps you both are still friends, or at least casual acquaintences. Or maybe you realize deep down, he wasn't the guy for you and the fact the relationship is over is a good thing for you and you are ready to move on. However you want to view it, I think the dream is positive one because you are comfortable where you are right now, but I wouldn't necessarily take it as a sign to go back out with him.

Dreams will never tell you the future like some claim, like you will be with him in the end after the "break", but I can tell you a few other things.
Walking on a sidewalk or down a road represents your journey through life. The crack in the sidewalk represents obstacles in life, the "bad times".
I would serioulsy listen to this next part!!!!!!
I feel that deep down, your phyche is telling you that you like the way you feel when things are "good" with this guy, like the way you smile at each other.
But on another note, you feel that when you are both put to the test, or when difficulties come up, you will be apart. This is why you let go of each other when you see the crack in the sidewalk.....understand? You don't feel that he will be with you through the bad times in life!!!!!
In my opinion, not your soulmate as far as your subconscious is telling you!

lots for instance you miss the way things were with your X & it shows by your reaction of letting him hold your hand in the dream! thecrack sounds like the rift that set you to apart & now you would like to get back together!

Maybe the crack represents that your relationship will be tested. But it appears that you both will, even though it may be difficult, pass this test.
