It is because of their disobedience to God's command. He specifically told them NOT to eat of the tree of knowledge of good and evil, but they were tempted by the serpent and thus, disobeyed God. God also punished Satan for what he did also. But the bottom line is, death is the punishment for sin. Ever since Adam and Eve sinned, God cursed the earth, which is the reason why we suffer from diseases, sickness, pain, sorrow, pestilence, famine, etc. - all because of sin.

For the same reason many more will continue to suffer because they will not listen to a Lamb.

I know, right? I mean if a snake could really talk, I might just listen too.

God gave them a choice not to touch the tree of the knowledge of good and evil. They are the parents to all the people of the earth. When we sin ourselves it affects others. So we have to be careful what we do every day.

well a very imporant issue was raised you see God's name was slandered
(Genesis 3:2-5) . . .Of the fruit of the trees of the garden we may eat. 3 But as for [eating] of the fruit of the tree that is in the middle of the garden, God has said, ‘YOU must not eat from it, no, YOU must not touch it that YOU do not die.’” 4 At this the serpent said to the woman: “YOU positively will not die. 5 For God knows that in the very day of YOUR eating from it YOUR eyes are bound to be opened and YOU are bound to be like God, KNOWING good and bad.”

you see Adam & Eve were perfect when they did this act of disobedience . It amounted to an act of rebellion against God's authourty notice what happened after that

(Genesis 6:1-2) . . .Now it came about that when men started to grow in numbers on the surface of the ground and daughters were born to them, 2 then the sons of the [true] God began to notice the daughters of men, that they were good-looking; and they went taking wives for themselves, namely, all whom they chose.

an act of rebellion by many of God's sons, So he has chosen to let Satan & mankind rule under all circumstances & technology's & man has brought nothing but violence & destruction to the earth
(Revelation 11:18) . . .and the appointed time for the dead to be judged, and to give [their] reward to your slaves the prophets and to the holy ones and to those fearing your name, the small and the great, and to bring to ruin those ruining the earth. . .

Adam and Even should not be blame for our sufferings today b ecause the4 sin of Adam and Eve are not our sin. We have not inherited any sin from Adam and Eve. It was written in the prophecy about that matter so inorder tht the prophecy be fullfiled , it was done.

Never mind using Adam & Eve to excuse your own sins. One thing I have yet to meet is anyone who hasn't at some time violated their own conscience and sinned. So one way or another we have all sinned.

It is ethics.
It is the SOURCE of ethics.
The "tree of knowledge of good and evil" is the idea that you can be "like God" and determine good and evil for yourself.
The original sin is trying to be your own god, trying to be "the decider" to borrow an unfortunate Bushism.
Ethics come from God, and when relativism creeps in, all heck will (has, and does) break loose.

It does not matter if it were Adam or Eve. Any one of us would have listened to the enemy (the talking snake) and wanted the forbidden fruit. Not one of us would have resisted.
