I always thought I could hide my emotions really well, until lately I've realized I'm hopeless at it! How do you keep your composure and keep your emotions hidden in situations where you are very upset or irritated? Even though I have learned to keep my mouth shut, my body expressions tell all. How did you learn? Thank You.

welcome to the club. I have wondered the same thing. I think it is okay to be yourself...it is boring to be around stoic people all the damn time. You are human! Showing emotion is what makes you so!! So, please don't deny that part of you. However, it is very important to remember that certain situations require composure...such as work or a job interview. People can easily take advantage of you if you show emotion in these areas. In a professional setting, do your best to remain as professional as possible and tell yourself to be a bad ***. You know how it is after you watch an action movie and the hero is just showing no mercy to those in his path...just think of that when you are in a situation where you need to keep you emotions UNDER the sleeve.

But it's all good to have your emotions be out there...I think it is refreshing and people, the right people, will appreciate you for not being fake or a total bore. :) Hope this helps.

I was blessed with the same thing. Since I cannot put the words together, I found something that looks like what I wanted to explain.

I can tell you that 'taking a deep breath' will in fact allow the parts of your brain to enable you to respond with more logical approach rather than an emotional one. (this helps with parenting as well as other relationships in life) Here is a bit of info...
