actual we are in a position to work out 14 BILLION easy years away. The Genesis account is many times misinterpreted, distinctly by using New Earth Evangelical Fundamentalists. The Hebrew be conscious for day, Yom, can recommend a 24 hour earth day, or an area of time, or era. The Bible additionally teaches that with God an afternoon is as a one thousand years and a one thousand years is as an afternoon, meaning God is undying. 14 Billion years can seem as though a blink of the attention to God. area of the creation occured till now the day and nighttime earth day. It basically is sensible then that God created all issues in "God days" or in 6 Eras which actual would have been 14 or so billion years. Fundies say "nicely yeah yet God would have created the sunshine photons besides through fact the celebrities so as that shall we see all the celebrities" etc. it fairly is mindless. a number of of the celebrities won't manage to be seen with the bare eye and why might God create issues like that or dinosaur bones just to place a stumbling block till now us? There are even galaxies that have crashed into one yet another and the value and path proves previous any doubt that this occured way excess of the ten,000 3 hundred and sixty 5 days New Earth theories. i've got faith interior the creation, yet no longer in fake theories and misinterpretations of the Bible.

The omphalos hypothesis suggests that when GOD created man and earth, that they were created to look as if they were already billions of years old. Think about it the way a book is written - the characters in a novel typically have a backstory that is eluded to thorughout the novel, but does not technically exist in the story in that the book itself isn't a life story of each character. Make sense? Of course, such a theory is not scientific, as it is not capable of being falsified through the scientific method. Oh well, :D
Edit: The most pathetic thing about Muse's argument is that no proof exists for her belief either. At least there is evidence of an older world, part of it being carbon dating, and other forms of radiometric dating. Next time you decide to refute a theory without offering evidence that catagorically falsifies it, try at least offering your own hypothesis that has scientific merit. Idiot.

First off, I am not even slightly religious, but it is important to remember that everything we currently think we know is probably wrong. When I was young it was common knowledge that margarine was healthier than butter - now we believe the opposite. Today, people laugh at vegans ... perhaps in a hundred years, they will consider all of us cow-slayers savages. So much of our knowledge about the earth's age is based on carbon dating, geology, etc etc ... there's always a chance that everyone is just wrong. Even scientists have preconceptions, and in some cases will ignore *their own* research if it goes way too far against the prevailing beliefs.
Any how, if you are religious you are stuck in a Catch 22 situation - you are led to believe that there are forces of evil constantly trying to lead you astray. I believe this causes Christians to panic if they start feeling themselves persuaded by scientific argument ... "Yes, Richard Dawkins makes a lot of sense when he talks about evolution ... uh oh, that's probably Satan messing with my head again"
Another big factor is your your family and peers. It is well known that the best form of advertising is word of mouth. Most people do not realize how much influence a crowd has. That is how shows by hypnotists work - if you are standing in front of 1000 audience members who all want you to bark like a dog ... well, you find yourself barking. If you're brought up to look at the world in a scientific light, you'll find that mind-set perfectly natural. If you're taken to church every Sunday, then you're more likely to judge these matters by religious criteria.

Mostly because the Bible says God created the earth in 7 days. First of all, the Bible has been editted many, many times. I realize that translating and editing is essential, but changing the content of the Bible is not. 7 days was originally 7 stages, which would mean it'd be around 5 billion years old. Even if it didn't say stages, the word days is a word that people have created. Day doesn't have to necessarily mean 24 hours.

America - the most religious industrial country today
America - Behind some 3rd world countries in science & Math.
Posts above me stating the earth is 6k years old and stating some half baked "creationist-science" that no serious scientist takes seriously is their source
Coincidence?
Sad I know, I also have to live with a country full of tards. At least it makes the competition easier

Well, it hasn't been proven yet.
Pick any dated material over 5500 years and you begin to run into debate with the dates. The Sumerian tablets are the oldest know wittings that are not disputed. There are Egyptian writings that have been dated older but there is too much disagreement on the age. There is just too much uncertainty.

Where is the article with the evidence and sources that prove this?
The entire time scale used by Evolutionists is based upon their theory of light-years. It is an unproven hypothesis. Every 'evidence' they come up with is a hypothetical probability, but it cannot be proven.
Mt. St. Helens went a long way to proving that the time table Evolutionists use is seriously flawed, and need deep re-examination.
You have a hope. You have a faith, but you have no more proof than the man-in-the-moon.

How was it proven?
If Evolution is proven why is it still called a theory?
Carbon dating is flawed. That is a fact. There is no proof unless you believe the assumptions. But then, you will have to rely on faith since assumptions cannot be proven as fact.
God bless you

because people need things to believe in so they can feel meaningful
seriously, many religeons were established in countries to enforce the government's laws and principles, especially in early russia
people who make religions want attention (like that guy who made the mormons), or they want to use it to manipulate people.
for example, christian priests use "hell" as a way to scare people into coming to church, and other things.
but people do not want admit that their religion is incorrect because that would make the purpose that people have been working towards since they were young would be gone, so science is "ruining" the meaning of life for many religious people
