Why weren't jews, atheists, muslims, and all other religions protesting The Passion of the Christ?
Also how many of the Christians protesting have read the books?

The golden compass movie sought to remove religion from the book and its PG-13 that would mean that only kids parents trust would go to the movie. I'm not saying you have to go see the movie but leave it alone

Are Christians protesting? Do you mean organizing and picketing the theaters or just choosing not to see a movie that they don't find suitable for their children? I'm going to read the books before I make a final decision. I don't blindly rely on the opinions of others.
God Bless.

Because Christians...(Sorry, I'm going to sterio type a little bit now) that care this much about a movie that tells an alternative FICTIONALLY based version of christianity are rich. Rich christians have nothing to do, so they protest movies that "bash god." I mean, does the bible not say that you shouldn't impose your ideals on others? Totally hypocritical. So we now have hypocrites protesting what is right, and what is wrong.
And hey, whose to say whether or not Christianity even exits, frankly, I'd read The Golden Compass over the bible anyday.

'The Passion of the Christ' was a cool movie--an entire movie performed in Aramaic and Latin is by definition 'cool,' no matter what its topic.
I believe there was some Jewish protest at 'Passion' because they thought it seemed anti-Semitic.
I have not read the 'His Dark Materials' series, but I'm not protesting the movie, either. I can't wait to see it!

Um..it's about killing God...that's why..
The Jews and Muslims...wouldn't give a rip...about the Passion...it's not like we protest them on what they do...
Many Atheists protested the movie because they said people would kill others because of the movie..
A guy confessed to murder...which happened years before...because of the movie.

I have no desire to read books that have a plot involving killing God... with a destructive agenda.
There was plenty of flack surrounding "The Passion of the Christ" release, but it was fought back by the Christian community in America.
Why do you think others should have protested that movie?

A lot of people did protest the passion of Christ ,but
a lot of people I know and myself will tell everyone to
not see the Golden calf movie ,and to not let children see
it or anyone else, because it is satanic and atheist.

i was interested in the golden compass so i took the book out from the library yesterday went home and read the entire thing. and well at least not in book one do they ever kill God. In fact i was told the person who does end up dying at the end of the trilogy is The Authority a god figure who is not God but rather the first Angel. who was already old n frail anyways. i think all this hubbub is ridiculous and stupid. i wish these people would actually read the books before opening their big fat mouths....

I haven't seen any Christians protesting...
I would protest because it looks like a rip off of Narnia.
