Nothing happens in our town but the newspaper reports on it every week anyway. It will have paragraphs that say - Pine Lane resident called to report strange truck in neighbors driveway - police responded and found it was landscaper mowing the lawn. Or man called to say that the light in the library was burning all night. Does your local paper do this and do you have any funny stories?

We've got a police log, it's usually pretty boring stuff. Last year, however, someone reported that someone wearing a gorilla suit beat him up and stole his money! That caused a bit of a stir, but the next week the guy had been arrested himself, for filing a false report. Turns out he had lost all his money in a poker game, and he wanted to figure a way to get out of his child support payments for the month.... and so he made up the robber in the monkey suit!

There is a newspaper named the Arcata Eye (Arcata is in California) that runs their police log in the paper and online. The writer takes the most mundane things (traffic stop, ticket for littering) and writes them with some of the best humor you have ever seen! Our town is not much more exciting (thankfully). We have stolen cars & purse snatchings, but other that that, it's loud noise after 10:00 PM. Once a week they list the crimes here & the next town. Sorry I don't have any funny stories about them. .......I reported a u-haul van sitting in a vacant lot for days. I called U-haul. They picked it up.

The city I grew up in listed all petty misdemeanors and misdemeanors along with all traffic incidents, but without any details. It would saying something like:

Joe Smith, 18 Speeding: 45 in 35 mph zone

It may have said what city they lived in too.

No, but my town of 10,000 has a police section on it's website that lists everything the cops do. We get about one arrest a day! LOL.
