This will probably sound like an odd question, but would dip leave a salty taste in someone's mouth? I've asked my boyfriend to quit, he promised he would. I can't watch him, I wouldn't anyways, but he knows if I catch him, he's dead. If it doesn't, what taste would it leave? Sorry if it's disgusting, but yeah.

I do not know what dip smells or tastes like. I personally don't want to be around it. So, does it have a distinct 'smell' or 'taste' i could detect that is similar to something else?

Chewing tobacco and dipping snuff usually leave stains on the teeth and causes your breath to smell fowl. Both my grandparents chewed tobacco or dipped snuff. When I was a kid, I snucked a pinch of tobacco from them and it had a sweet/bitter kind of taste to it, though strong also. The snuff is powdered dusty brown tobacco, which to me is very, very bitter and very, very strong (even if it's sweeten). If you're not use to using it, both will make you drunk or feel sick. Your breath will smell like very, very strong tobacca. Brushing your teeth and rinsing the mouth out with baking soda will help. Then top it off with mouth wash.

I have a friend that has been chewing for a long time and he does not take care of his teeth. The chew stained his teeth from it.
