Nope. Westies come in one size. Of course, no matter the size, they're adorable. They're incredibly charming dogs, and I bet you'd like a "regular" one. She probably just had a runt of a litter, or a poorly advertised "miniature" dog. If you want to get a Westie, definitely check out rescue and reputable breeders. The Westie Club should have some great resources for you.

Any real breeder will never advertise their dogs using cutsey names. Miniature just means that the sickly runts of every litter are bred together producing more of these smaller, unhealthier specimens.
Personally, I do not see why you would want to make the West Highland White Terrier any smaller because they are already quite petite.
If you see an advertisement for MINIATURE WHWT, run away! THese dogs may be cute, but they are hiding all sorts of issues under their adorable facade!

I've never heard of a mini Westie. Westies are normally small from 15-25 pounds. Females tend to be smaller then males. I'm sure there are people that are trying to pass off smaller Westies for miniature.

What she probably meant was that it was a small Westie. My female is 15 lbs. and male 22 lbs. The male's sire and dam were both small and he's a big Westie. A friend has two males from the same pair born 1.1/2 yrs later and they are both small.
So, there's no guarantee you'll get a "mini" Westie even if the parents are small.

Westies come in one size and one size only. Of course there will always be slight size deviations but ideal is 10-11" tall at the withers. Anything much smaller or larger is a disqualification, but any size, small or large, is just a Westie.

No not in reality. Some breeders sell their runts as mini's or teacup but they are nothing but runts and often have several health issues to being the smallest and often they don't get a good start in birthon.

No such thing. They only come in one size..small.
No doubt it is some money making gimmick some BYB came up with to make more money off of runty pups.

the "minature" is a bad breeders way of charging people without a clue more money for a badly bred runt (or possibly mixed breed)
the wesit is a SMALL breed anyway, anyone trying to sell you a minature is trying to rip you off, unfortunatly this lady was likley taken for ALOT of money.
