So, does the ps3 have a harddrive still now that it's $100 less? Does it still work with non-highdefinition televisions? Is it even worth it?

I would wait until you get a high def TV. Looks unreal on a Plasma or LCD.

I bought a PS3 on black friday its still has the harddrive and you have a choice of 40, 60, or 80gb

lets start with 40 - If you dont have a lot of PS2 games and dont plan on buying many, the harddrive is fine unless youre a hard core gamer and a media manager, also comes with free spiderman 3 blue ray

now the 60 - If you have a ton of PS2 games and plan on buying more get this one the harddrive is probably enough too buy you won't get any special extras though

last the 80 - If you have some PS2 games, 80 wont play them all but will play most, plus comes with free Motostorm game rated T

all PS3's will work with non high def tv's and all the games will too

I'd say its worth it if you have a high def TV if you dont its not

Finnally the prices

40 gb with spiderman 3 blueray - $399

60gb with nothing extra - $499

80gb with motostorm ESRB T - $499

Yes it is worth it and yes it works with non HD TV's. They have 3 different PS3's. The 80 gb, the 60gb, and the 40 gb. The 40 gb is $400, and the 60 and 80 gb are 500. The 40 comes with spider-man 3 free on blu-ray(at least for now). The down part of the 40 gb is that is doesnt play PS2 games. The 60 gb plays them perfectly, and the 80 gb acquires an update for the Ps2 games to work.

If you want my opinion i would put off buying any next gen system for about six months to a year. There are no good games out for any system right now, and they need to go down in price. im pretty sure ps3s will work on a normal tv too.

EDIT: there is about 1 good game w/ each console
PS3: Resistence fall of man
360: Gears of war, call of duty 4
Wii: Warioware

It's the same PS3 as before with the harddrive function, Wifi, HDMI ports, etc. I bought earlier this year and just gave it to my sister's family. I got another one for myself....so I know they're the same...just costs less.

All PS3's have a hard drive, though the new $399 PS3 cannot play PS2 games. (though the 20GB, 60GB, and 80GB PS3's can.)

The PS3 can work with any type of TV.

And yes it is worth it, it has many games which are well worth it, and many to come.

it is still high-def and yes it does work with no high-def tv's there are several differences though, like bluetooth capabilities which is one of the most awesome things about it...u can use ur bluetooth headset during online play...but the 400 doesnt have it...also it cannot play ps2 games, and has less specs alltogether so shoot for the 500 80gb

1). 20GB has no chrome trim, no memory card reader and no wi-fi. Not manufactured anymore. Has the best backwards compatibility with PS2 games due to Emotion Engine (PS2's CPU) and Graphics Synthesizer (PS2's GPU) installed.
2). NTSC 60GB has the same backwards compatibility as 20GB versio, also has memory card reader and wi-fi. Has a chrome trim.
3). 80GB - extended memory, but reduced backwards compatibility with PS2 games, it has only Graphics Synthesizer (PS2's GPU). Around 80% of PS2 games can be played. Available only in NTSC regions.
4). 40GB - can't play PS2 games at all (all PS2 chips were removed), has 2 USBs instead of 4, no memory card reader, has wi-fi. Avalable in black and white colors. White is on sale only in Japan. Uses 65nm technology (lower power consumption). Improved cooling system.
5). PAL 60GB - reduced backwards compatibility with PS2 games. it has only Graphics Synthesizer (PS2's GPU). Around 80% of PS2 games can be played.
