Yeah...no. Especially because I know they all eat shellfish and are wearing two different types of fabric right now as we type.

If all I had to choose from were people that make that claim, then I would still go and vote. Even though it might be painful, I consider voting not only a privilege, but an obligation.
Anyone who makes that claim worries me. And I'd seriously doubt that they've even read the Bible.

I would probally still vote. The candidate is just an ignorant person trying to gain publicity in many cases. Of course this candidate was running against a more logical person, that is a different case.

If they believe in it LITERALLY, then no, they are not fit to be the president because they are unobjective. I would (though I wont be old enough to in '08) vote for a candidate who believes in the Bible as they put it, in an allegorical way, as long as they did not let religion play a big part in political issues.

Yes of course politicians just use religion to gain votes anyway most of them have the intelligence to know it is all nonsense. A person would be foolish to waste his vote on an a person who claimed to be an Atheist he wouldn't have a chance in Hell of winning.

I don't base my votes for politicians on religion. They aren't in office because they have a background in theology. They are trying to run a country and religion shouldn't sway people from voting for or against them.
Vote for who you believe will do the best job at making America great.

Err, every president we had in a long time has been a Protestant old white guy.
They may not claim to be literal, but they usually do flaunt their religion to try to gain "moral" higher ground - which I think is bs. Religion doesn't make you magically a better person or candidate or leader.

Sure, I voted for Bush.
Why? Because I'm smart enough have faith in the fact that all politicians are liars anyway, and will say anything if it'll get a vote out of a certain group of people - yet be enough of a man to honour his promises once he's in office.

What choice do we have if Christians try to dominate our society? They are bound to say it to get votes. For us, we look at the person's other qualities as well and choose someone we feel is best suited for qualities beyond just religion.
Now am I likely to vote for someone overly religious and all into that, doubtful.

Every world of the bible as in "God is the the lord because the prophets of Baal cannot summon Baal"? That does not speak too well of them, is it?
