Mine was three years ago and so different to anything that I've ever had since, but is that just because you look back with fond memories and forget about the bad times? You hear about people who meet up with their teenage sweethearts after 20 years and get married... this would suggest you never forget?

My opinion? You never forget your first love, but you do forget all of the bad times. It's been 7 years since my first love, and I'm married with a daughter, but I'll still sometimes (when I'm bored or unhappy) think back to him. It's your first love, and you never feel exactly the same way again! Doesn't mean it was the best you'll ever have, or as good as it gets, or that he was your "true love", it just means you were young and completely head over heels and experiencing it all for the first time. I think we long more for being young and new to it all rather than the actual boy.... :)

I don't think anyone can forget their first love. I certainly know I won't ever forget mine!

As for whether we can get over and move on from it...I think that's natural. It can take weeks, months...sometimes years. It depends on the person and the circumstances surrounding the end of the relationship.

I can look back on my first love with so many smiles and fond memories. I can't even explain how magical it was to feel that way towards someone. But I don't ever feel like I wish I could ressurect that relationship, and somehow still be living it today.

Not long ago I did get back in touch with my first love from 10 years ago. We had fun reminiscing, but he and I are different people now. We could never EVER have what we did then.

The wonderful thing is that somewhere along the line, people often find themselves in new love that is even more extraordinary and elating. You find yourself thanking your lucky stars for all the failed relationships that inevitably lead to the one you're now living.

Well the First really true love, You will never forget! And many try finding that first true love in someone else, but at best never measure up! But only because you never knock down the wall to let it happen that way again!

And in most cases, That first love you really deep down want back, but things at times can never be the same! If the first love happened to go bad from something either one of you did and it was unforgiveable, Well then it's time to just move on!

Many say they can't move on, but it's only because they won't let go! Letting go is the first step for happyness again with someone else! If you can't let go, How can you expect to move forward with your life and be happy again! Sure maybe you could spend the rest of your life still loving the first love of your life, but are you really going to let it make all your relationships down the road be tarnished by it! If you do, your happyness with someone else will never be true Right???

And the ones that reunite after many years have gone by are very few in between, Those are the first loves that just life alone ended there relationship, like having to move far away, war, college transfers etc. If the relationship was ended because of bad things, most likely those relationships never reunited or would ever want too!

I'm 52 years old and every once in a while I think back of my first love, but that's about as far as it goes! people change so, your first love after many years go by, really isn't the same person! We all change one way or another as time goes on. Maybe some more then others but we all do in many differnet ways !

I myself really doubt after like 10 years going by I could just reunite with my first love and start the relationship back up! I actually wouldn't want too! I wouldn't really even know her from today, like I did 10 -20 year ago! I guess in any relationship, if it was a good one with many great memories!

I guess we will always think about it now and then and probably for the rest of our lives! Forgetting about someone you really loved I don't think you can ever erase it from your mind totally, but we learn to move forward with our lives the best way we can so we can find happyness gain with that special someone! But to totally forget the first love? I don't think it's humanly possible!

No, My heart has never seemed to repair itself. Maybe beacause I won't let myself love again as im scared of feeling the love that caused me sooo much pain. 4 years on and ive just destroyed yet another relationship with a great guy because I can't let go of the past.
