Men in church are taught to serve God first. To the point they are neglecting their spouses and children. Women get tired of it and leave!!!!!!! Besides, the Bible clearly states a bad spouse isn't being a good Christian. Also, a person can't be a proper example of a Christian if they aren't a Godly parent. If I can do it all, why have a husband?

Just because someone goes to church doesn't mean they follow the rules they claim to believe in. As a preacher's kid, I saw a lot of the things that go on in a church that other people don't always see. Husbands (and wives) who cheated. Drug abuse. Violence.
My husband and I were in counseling and going to church together regularly the first time he cheated. Ditto for the second time, and for the first time he hit me. And, because I thought we could fix it, that I had to stay with him because Christians don't believe in divorce, I stayed. He met someone and moved in with them within a 4 day period, leaving me with no job, two special-needs kids, and a broken heart. He left me, for an 18 year old girl in the church choir whose mother was the choir director. I didn't go to church for a while...

Wrong! Some men that go to church are just hinding their tru selves behind the church doors. I was married to a man that went to church and was abusive and also I knew another man that was a choir leader in church and raped someone. tis goes for women to though. There are a lot more hipocrits in the church than we think.

Since Christians, especially in the Bible Belt, have the highest divorce rate, I am puzzled as why you have to ask.
I'll just say because they're Christians.
To reverse it, my friends who work at abuse shelters say the first words out of husband's mouth when confronted is an angry "the bible says she has to OBEY me!"
Case closed. I wouldn't make a very good Christian husband.

You are making an assumption that all marriages are pre-determined by God or the higher power or whatever you call Him/Her...and that Church is the answer to a good marriage. My opinion is that we have free will, and that if more of us would accept personal responsibility for our OWN choices, we'd be better off!! Dosn't God have better things to do than making certain we all find a compatible partner??

Boy, are you misguided. Do you ever watch the news? Have you seen all those married pastors and upstanding citizens having gay sex and affairs and such. I'm pretty sure their wives didn't know about it. Did you know the BTK killer was a deacon of his church?

Women who leave their husbands do so for a multitude of reasons and while there a guidelines for how a Christian husband is supposed to behave toward his wife, that does not mean they all follow them.
*If being Christian meant that you were immediately perfect, then yes they would all treat them like they were supposed to. But perfection does not happen now, it will happen in heaven.

No man does everything right. You as a women already know this, why are you setting this poor gender up like this?
If we weren't so damn entertaining due to our stupidity or as well endowed either monetarily or physically you would all leave us. For what I have no idea but you would still leave.

What does treating your spouse well and going to Church have to do with each other?
People who go to Church are just like anyone else....same problems....same joys.
