Only Young Earth Creationists assume the Behemoth to be a dinosaur, anyone else an Elephant.

Edit: I don't know why I'm getting thumbs down, Behemoth in the book of Job is what is being refered to here.

good question! It's sort of like that riddle' "which came first, the chicken or the egg?" I've always been confused which came first with the dinosaurs, the dinosaurs first or man in Gods likeness? It's very confusing if we are to believe the dinosaur were here before man and Noah didnt put a pair on his Arc?!, the Book says and names all sorts of animals here on Earth before Adam & Eve but no mention of those dinosaurs! So during the Ice Age or the Drought that took them out, I mean, then it was Adam & Eve after that or what? someone has got to clear this one up!!!

Anyone who has read the tanakh in it's original Hebrew, or hell, the Latin translation for that matter, can tell that it is describing a hippopotamus or an elephant.

Not a dinosaur.

The KJV and NWT respectively make it sound more magnificent by using the word "behemoth". This obviously has the desired effect, as there are numerous Christians who claim that it was a dinosaur, and therefore reaffirming the fact that the Bible is historical.

It isn't a dinosaur. Dinosaurs weren't around in the time of Job, or any man for that matter.

They aren't mentioned. But very few animals specifically are mentioned by name. Doesn't mean dinosaurs (or kangaroos) didn't exist.

Also, Adam and Eve and their offspring up to the days of Noah lived in a few small part of the world. May not the dinosaurs have been elsewhere on the planet?

There is also the possibility that the dinosaurs were already gone by the time man was created. Which makes sense if you realize that the creative "days" may have been 1000s of years in length. It is unreasonable to presume that each 'day' was only 24 hours.

Ok...lets go back in time.....Lets pretend that we can listen to the Chat bewteen God and Moses...

G: OK Moses, I will tell you how I created everything...Take up a pen and write this down....

M: Ok God...Ready when you are

G: In the beginning, there was a big giant mass of matter contained into a small object the size of pea. Everything in the Universe was compressed into this little tiny pea, which then exploded, with plasmas, matter, eneregy, and electrons...

M: Uhm...Excuse me God?

G: Yes Moses...

M: Uhm...what are you talking about....What is matter? Plasma...electons?

G: Oh...yeah...I didn't think about that...You probably won't be able to get your mind around the whole primordial ooze things eaither, and the fact that life began as a single cell...I'm not even going to try with Evolution...The Platapus will just confuse you even more...OK....Moses...Lets start again....Ready?

M: Yes God...

G: In the beginning, God Created the heaven and earth.......

And the rest you know....

The fact is that Just because something is not in the bible it doesn't mean it didn't happen. Furthermore, just because there is evidence of evolution, it does not mean that God didn't create it.

hey rey rey, Yes they are but they are not called dinosaurs. In the book o Job chapter 40 God describes what can only be dinosaur. God called it Behemoth. Rey, not ALL books are in chronological order. The book of Job actually belongs between Genesis 1:1 and Genesis 1:2. DR WHATEVER above me is wrong. In the book of Job God is definitely likening (comparing ) the tail of Behemoth to the size of a fir tree. Now I ask you , how then can that animal be a hippo. The hippo tail is lucky to be 2 feet long. Probably much less it is just a stub.

(Genesis1:20)20 And God said, "Let the water teem with living creatures, and let birds fly above the earth across the expanse of the sky."
(Genesis1:21)21 So God created the great creatures of the sea and every living and moving thing with which the water teems, according to their kinds, and every winged bird according to its kind. And God saw that it was good.
(Genesis1:22)22 God blessed them and said, "Be fruitful and increase in number and fill the water in the seas, and let the birds increase on the earth."
All the dinasaurs are mentioned in these verses quoted above, the ones that were flying in the air, the ones walking on the ground and the monsters of the sea, of course the Bible does not sapecifically name dinasaurs, but then, it does not name all the animals specifically.

They aren't mentioned, and I see no particular reason why that should bother anybody. The Bible is not an encyclopedia to satisfy our curiosity about everything that ever happened. It's a book written to address our need for salvation and to teach us how to have a proper relationship with God. Anything unrelated to that topic is irrelevant, and since dinosaurs have nothing to do with saving our souls, I'm not a bit surprised that they aren't mentioned. If we want to satisfy our curiosity about nature, well . . .that's why God gave us eyes to see and brains to figure things out.

The first chapter of Genesis covers the whole creation of the earth, "day by day." (A day means a period of time.) So there were six periods of time, each with a specific purpose.

On the fifth "day", the flying creatures and great monsters of the sea were created. On the sixth "day" the domestic animals, moving animals and wild beast of the earth appeared. I would think that included dinosaurs.

Jehovah would be happy to know you are thinking about His word.

The word "DINOSAUR" wasn't in the Bible..
if the scientists will found out that it is a living thing and real before humans, then DINASAURS are created by God..
