Yes.

Heaven as an eternal reward, Hell as an eternal punishment. What better way to keep people in line than promise the greatest reward -- or worst punishment -- imaginable?

I think so. I think man thought up of this place called heaven to feel better about the fact that we're all going to die someday. And I think hell is used as a way of controlling people by telling them they're going there to suffer for eternity if they don't act a certain way. Just my thoughts.

Eeeyup. It was only natural that the human mind would not be able to accept oblivion every time, so a reassuring notion of an afterlife was fabricated.

Duh. The whole idea is just a scare tactic used to pressure people into submission so they will follow a certain way of belief. It's not real.
