Matthew 10:34
Think not that I am come to send peace on earth: I came not to send peace, but a sword.

Luke 12:51
Suppose ye that I am come to give peace on earth? I tell you, Nay; but rather division: For from henceforth there shall be five in one house divided, three against two, and two against three. The father shall be divided against the son, and the son against the father; the mother against the daughter, and the daughter against the mother; the mother in law against her daughter in law, and the daughter in law against her mother in law.

Luke 22:36
He that hath no sword, let him sell his garment, and buy one.

Yes He did. You are missing the spiritual meaning behind these scriptures. You're taking them literally.

He said what he came for.

He did this by quoting a few verses from Isaiah 61:

17 The scroll of the prophet Isaiah was handed to him. Unrolling it, he found the place where it is written:
18 "The Spirit of the Lord is on me,
because he has anointed me
to preach good news to the poor.
He has sent me to proclaim freedom for the prisoners
and recovery of sight for the blind,
to release the oppressed,
19 to proclaim the year of the Lord's favor."

20 Then he rolled up the scroll, gave it back to the attendant and sat down. The eyes of everyone in the synagogue were fastened on him, 21 and he began by saying to them, "Today this scripture is fulfilled in your hearing."
( Luke 4 )

Setting the captives free would be without hardship. In fact the forces that had been on Earth were trying as they might to deny anyone passage to God's kingdom.

So I am sure that you have noticed, many people do not pay attention to what Jesus actually said. They want to believe in a Jesus and a God who they can approve of instead of the one easily found in the Bible.

I think that Jesus it best when he was talking in the temple to the Pharisees:

45 "Yet because I tell the truth, you do not believe me!"
(John 8 )

John 3:17 For God sent not his Son into the international to sentence the international; yet that the international by using him might desire to be stored. God's be conscious is almost a double edged sword.Jesus got here to deliver us the message of God that's His be conscious , that's variety of a sword. Hebrews 4:12 For the be attentive to God is speedy, and effective, and sharper than any twoedged sword, piercing even to the dividing asunder of soul and spirit, and of the joints and marrow, and is a discerner of the techniques and intents of the middle. Jesus is amazingly non violent and loving. he's likewise very forgiving as properly. one might desire to comprehend and comprehend this in the event that they had a non secular courting with Jesus with Him as your guy or woman Savior. in case you have not have been on condition that, there is not any way you may desire to ever comprehend God's be conscious.

Yes...he did...once you understand that the Sword is the Word of God ( defined in book of Galatians).......and the family's of Christians will reject them, not the other way around. The Families will be offended by the Word of God ( Sword) and the Christian will loose much for his faith. Any physical sword would be to defend themselves against those that would be persecuting them and trying to kill them.

I think His purpose is to die for our sins so that those who accept Him as our savior may be saved. Unfortunately, not everyone will accept Him and therein lies the problem. There will be no peace for the wicked. That is who the battle is being fought against. As for those who are faithful to Him, we will enjoy eternal peace and happiness

Well, since none of the people who wrote those things ever met Jesus...I think their interpretation is a bit off. When He was alive, His message was about peace and love, and turning the other cheek. Years later...Mathew, Mark, Luke and John had a different way of going about the promotion of Christianity. They apparently liked the 'fear the Lord thy God' method better.

He has no army, just 12 or 13 who run away during the "incident". And only one person who is willing to replace his position for the cross, so this man who is in cross is the close person totally believe him.
