One of my best friends was moving 2 days ago and because of complications they were given 3 hours notice of when they had to be out of the house... She has an apartment rented but no truck or way of getting everything there. Neither her nor her boyfriend have a credit card so I let them use mine for the damage deposit on a U-Haul knowing they can afford to pay everything and trusting they would...
My friends boyfriend went to return the truck (several hours late) and today I called the company to make sure he had paid the bill and it turns out he told them to charge it to my card...

My friend paid me cash for the charges but I need them taken off my credit card.

Can I go to the U-Haul and pay them cash and have the charges refunded?
If I go to the bank and pay for it will it still show up on the bill thats mailed to me monthly?
If the U-Haul refunds it, will it show on my bill?
Other ways of keeping it off the bill I get in the mail?

If it's already processed and you have been paid, it's too late to reverse and pay cash. If you didn't want any charges on your credit card, why on earth did you agree to lend it to these folks ?

Even if U-Haul is willing to reverse the charges and accept your cash, your statement is going to show the charge, and then a corresponding credit. The transaction isn't going to be invisible.

You need to go to U Haul and ask them. But it sounds like you are to late to keep it off the bill since it was charged 2 days ago.

If your hiding the bill from someone else send them the payment and shred the bill when it arrives.
