Chine has zero chance to defeat the US conventially.

That's easy question to answer... in a nuclear war there is no winner. In a conventional war, the technological edge will compensate for the Chinese numerical superiority. During the Cold War, NATO planners had relied on tactical nukes in the Fulda Gap to counter the numerical advantage of Red Army tank divisions.

But in the modern era, the smart bombs, attack helos, main battle tanks, command & control systems are far more advanced what the Chinese Red Army could muster....as far as the conventional line-up can be determined.

But in reality, with both sides having nuclear forces, were're in a nuclear stand-off.

Good question. The good old USA has the technology to do it but does it have the heart to do it.

Whenever you go against a nation that is willing to sacrifice thousans if not millions of lives in what will boil down to a war of attrittion you have to ask yourself the question are you willing to endure the annihilation of millions of lives and risk the thousands of your own.

America has a hard time swallowing 4 thousand in Iraq. China has a million man Army ....... Think of the battlefield statics if we were to invade a country with a billion + population. You better pray our Navy and Air Force pound the hell out of them and that the 'King of the Battle', Field Artillery does the same before we even committ troops.

It would currently end in a Draw. China would Run the US out of Mainland Asia, maybe even Japan and South Korea, by sheer weight of numbers. However with a weak navy they could never hit the US with enough troops to win. And with leftist weakness in this nation and a rather Small Army we could not invade China.

The U.S. would win a Convential war between the two countries...eventually. It would be hard on us and would cost hundreds of thousands of lives on our side and maybe millions on there's. If you call that victory, we'd be the winner.
