There ain't enough Baileys in the world to do that, even with all the "drinking" questions!

I don't try to convince myself there is a God now.
I did when I was first becoming atheist. I fought desperately for a long time to "save my faith."
I do pay attention to the best arguments for God, because if someone has something resembling a decent argument, then they deserve to be heard. Besides IF there was a God, then I would want to know that. I'm not atheist because I don't want to believe in God. I want to know the TRUTH. I'm atheist because I have no reason to believe in God.

while I do not consider myself an atheist, I do try to understand myself, there by understanding god or what people claim to be god and the creative process. but as I understand it the majority of people that believe in a single entity they call god, has an omnipresence is everywhere at all times, an all knowing god that knows everything at all times, past present and future, so if you know all, there is nothing you do not know, prior to my coming to earth your belief would say that at some point god and I had a chat that would have explained to me that I would be coming to earth to be something bad and do bad things, and god knew that I would be making these choices and doing the things that I would be doing and then after I die he would be sending me to hell, and why I ask? because he loves me? he is going to send me here knowing "all" and knowing the choices I would be making and then damning me to hell? So no, for me I do not try to convince myself there is a god, as described in the bible or by others, but I do try to understand myself, and if more people did that , the world might be a better place. I've never heard an argument for God that I find convincing.

I think of what is was could be with and with-out all the time and I don't know if I flt like caring if I did or not. Then I figured what could be better than flying with out a engine or wings is to be God. But then I would be think I was a God then I guess your right.

I spend as much time doing that as I spend trying to convince myself that the purple hedgehog tree in my yard throws money at me.
So far, there are no good arguments for God, and that is not what is required anyway. What is required is proof.

yes i convince my self there is a god so that i don't believe. this question makes no sense. if i was in two minds i wouldn't be a atheist. being a atheist doesn't mean your blind if the remote possibility of god being ever proved happened i wouldn't just ignore it, but saying god was proved doesn't mean i would just faithfully follow him, as i strongly don't advocate a lot in the bible.

I did try to convince myself for a long time. I couldn't. I still challenge my beliefs (or lack thereof) whenever an argument compels me to do so...but I have yet to see anything convincing.

I'm not atheist, but I agree with what's been said before. Asking someone to try believing in something they just don't is very difficult, atheist or not.

'Best arguments for God'?
What are they? I've not heard any arguments at all - just details of people's delusions.
