All of my life, I have met nothing but A**hole police officers. Why is that? Is it just a power complex, or being given too much freedom and they just run with it? Or are people who are drawn to LE just naturally flawed and have no life?
Please discuss, I really am curious.

I just happen to watch people and I have met alot of loser cops! So keep up with your loser husband! Oh and btw cops are known cheaters so ya better watch out sweetheart.

Again, must i repeat myself, jezus christmas you people are slow. Thanks for all the normal answers but to those saying "oh you must be a trouble maker" get over yourselves, WRONG! Cops are jerks, everyone knows that, I just wanted to know WHY.

My ticket was for failure to inspect in time. That's a citation, know-it-all! I Failure to inspect in time is not breaking the law.
Geez, there are some seriously weird people on yahoo answers. I had no idea that for every decent person there are just as many absolute kooks. Well you enjoy your little incorrect "theory" Einstein. This is just the biggest joke ever, again, to all the normal people thank you. But to you lunatics who think you know it all, you know where you can go! And please, in the future, keep your stupid nonsensical "opinions" to yourself. You all think you know so much but in reality you know NOTHING. FYI duma**es, I was sexually asaulted by a police officer. That was just ONE of the incidents I was referring to. So just shut your mouths, get a life, and stop trying to imply that I have had troubles with the law, because as I already said A MILLION times, I have not. Seriously, how can you be so stupid? I have to agree - most cops I have met are JERKS!
For example: I was at a bar one time and these four guys were spitting and pouring beer off a balcony onto patrons. When someone finally confronted them they whipped out their badges and told him to get lost. When he didn't they called their buddies in to escort him into a waiting police car.
I've had co-workers stalked by married police officers (hired as security guards on their off hours) at a store I worked for. Including one girl who was only 18.
I went to the police department once to let them know I witnessed an assault and could be called for testimony - they acted like I was wasting their time. They wrote my name and number on a scrap of paper and said "thanks."
99% of the time I can ID a police officer just by their attitude and character (or lack of). I think most have superiority complexes and think the average person is an idiot.
I believe that every city should assign a part of town to each officer and have them get to know the people they are supposed to be protecting. Instead of mailing me a request for a donation to the PBA stop by my house and ask in person, say hello, and act like you care, and I would gladly make a nice donation.

No really, There are bad cops, there are bad teachers, there are bad doctor so on...., not ALL cops are jerks, the cops I know are nice, and fair, maybe if you stop getting into trouble then you won't get picked on. I doubt that you have NEVER gotten into trouble, or you might had an bad experience with one, but you shouldn't single out all the nice guy.

Police are just like any other occupation. There are nice guys and there are as you call them jerks. Police are the ones in society that have to enforce the law. The ones who have to say no to people don't speed, don't beat your spouse, don't drive drunk you could kill yourself or others.
People do not like to hear that they cannot do everything they want to do. They can be A Holes just like the police. The police have to deal with them every day.
For people like yourself who complain I would like you to be a police officer for a week. Then try to do the job that society says they have to do.
I would love to see your reaction the first time a person spits on you or fights with you and punches you. Its not an easy job but someone has to do it.

You will see the officers that gave their lives for you to live free in the USA. Maybe then you will appreciate what they do. A police officer is killed app. every 40 hours in the USA. 160 so far this year.
Some police are A holes but I can tell you that the majority are not.

They're not all jerks...thats a terrible assertion. Having been in law enforcement for a while, cops are just like everyone else. When you have that responsibility everyone may hate but someone has to do it. We respond to things via 911 most people would hate to confront in dreams. Why are u anti-police? There must be a reason...

IMO, there are lots of nice cops. The only time they weren't nice to me was the one time in my life when I broke the law (jumping a turnstile, in case you're wondering), and in that case they were justified! The ones you meet are probably stressed out because of what they have to deal with every day. Think about it: it's one of the only professions where you have to deal with violent and dangerous people as a routine part of your job. I think most of them can differentiate between criminals and ordinary citizens.

You stated that you in fact have never broken the law. Yet you have also stated that you have recieved a ticket. I do not understand. The ticket shows that you did infact break the law. Now you expect us to believe what you say. Looks like you have met or dealt with alot of LEOs only to havfe been issued one citation. Weird....

They are supposed to act like that, it's part of their job...I am dead serious. They are supposed to intimidate people to make it seem like they are in control...which they usually do a mighty fine job of!
If you ever get to know a police officer that isn't on duty, they are just like everyone else, I know some really nice policemen. But not at work (roaming the streets)

Maybe you are prone to get in trouble and they know you!
My husband is a deputy sheriff and is a really nice guy, everyone will say he is nice and awesome to talk to and even get pulled over by. There are some jerks out there though too. Like Highway Patrol Troopers, ugh! You will get treated how you dish it out.
