Certainly Jesus was not a pacifist. He said in His great sermon on the mount "blessed are the peacemakers". To be a peacemaker requires action and self sacrifice. Surely this is not the teaching of a pacifist but one who teaches love exhibited by sacrifice above selfishness.

Where do you get that Jesus carried a sword???
This explains it:
Mat 26:50 And Jesus said unto him, Friend, wherefore art thou come? Then came they, and laid hands on Jesus, and took him.
Mat 26:51 And, behold, one of them which were with Jesus stretched out [his] hand, and drew his sword, and struck a servant of the high priest's, and smote off his ear.
Mat 26:52 Then said Jesus unto him, Put up again thy sword into his place: for all they that take the sword shall perish with the sword.
Mat 26:53 Thinkest thou that I cannot now pray to my Father, and he shall presently give me more than twelve legions of angels?
Mat 26:54 But how then shall the scriptures be fulfilled, that thus it must be?
THEN JESUS PUT THE SOLDIER'S EAR BACK ON!

I think that the swords that they carried were actually knives that were meant to be used as tools, not neccesarily weapons. At that time especially for a Jew, a real "sword" was not a luxury they could afford, unless of course they wanted to reforge a plow.

He didn't but the apostles who were soldiers carried swords. All the pictures of them show them in robes but some one pulled their sword and cut off an ear and only soldiers carries swords.

Matt 10:34 "Do not think I came to bring peace on Earth. I did not come to bring peace but a sword"
And it just keeps getting worse from there!

Upon what do you base the premise of your question? I do not recall the Bible passage, "and the disciples all carried swords" portion in my Bible.

The swords were the word of God.
It is recorded in that Bible that only Peter had a sword. There is no other mention of a sword.
Where are you getting your information?

They did? It's a historical fact that Peter grabbed a sword from a soldier and used it in the Garden of Gethsamane. Why would he do that if he had his own sword?

I think you are a conservative person trying to make the war acceptable... Jesus' message was love... NOT war
