Some people, like Richard Roberts, claim that God talks to them and tells them to do all kinds of things.

So my question is - When people do something that they say God told them to do -
How do you know they are right?
How do you know God really was talking to them?
And what do you think about someone who sincerely believes that God told them to something that you think is bad?
If it is just in their heads and nobody else is a witness then can't they justify ANY ACTIONS by saying that God told them to?

Justified actions is the meat and potatoes folks.
I'm an atheist and people have told me that my non belief gives me a blank check to do whatever I want. As if I can't have morals or any kind of ethical system. BS
I believe that the Bible gives the true blank check to do whatever a believer wants.
The atrocities committed in the Bible all were done at the command of God.
Did God tell Joshua to kill everything that took a breath?
No, I think Joshua committed this atrocious act and later told people that God told him to do it!

I can't answer all the questions for I don't know the minds of the people. The only thing I know I can say with the utmost of confidence is this, "God will never tell anyone to commit a sin."
You should always test the spirits.
"Dear friends, do not believe every spirit, but test the spirits to see whether they are from God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world. This is how you can recognize the Spirit of God: Every spirit that acknowledges that Jesus Christ has come in the flesh is from God, but every spirit that does not acknowledge Jesus is not from God. . ." 1 John 4:1-3a
So if you have a spirit talking to you, test it.

I think anyone who honestly believes that a god talks to them has a serious mental condition.
I also think that most of those who say that some god told them to do something simply use it as an excuse to do whatever the hell they want to do. It's the perfect reason if anyone is foolish enough to believe it.

God speak,s to us thur our heart or mind,,if we know God
he will speak to us,,in a case of wheather to do a bad
thing we would feel bad a even thinking it,that is
God telling us not to do it.

yes, god DOES talk to people, he told the Jews to evict Palestinians from their homes, murder the ones who objected, put rest of them in *refugee camps* (really, concentration camps) because the land they lived on was *given* to them by Him, ask them, they (the Jews) will show you the deed... it is there somewhere, no ? they say so all the time, then it MUST be true, no ? HE DID tell them...
