if you take a purity vow to wait until marrige and you break it? im looking into taking a purity vow and was just wondering

Welcome to humanity.
Take all the vows you wish. Sexuality is within you and you may not be able to keep that vow.
But don't punish yourself.

A purity vow is a promise you make to yourself, if you believe you may break it without giving abstinence a try, then honey don't take the vow, and become a little slut like so many other young ladies. Sorry for the reality factor, but it's the facts mam'. Nothing will happen, only the fact that you broke a promise to yourself and GOD. Does that matter to you? If it does take the vow, find a nice young man and be happy until fate and love take over. WAIT.

There is no real consequence to breaking it. I personally would not be happy if my daughters wanted to do this. I'm not sure why exactly, but it seems to reinforce sex as something to be repressed and that somehow not indulging in it make you more spiritual.

If you take this vow you should honor it and if you dont think you can do that then dont take the vow.
