I have to tell you I am preparing for bariatric surgery... I have seen a nutritionist and I was told that the foods that make you put on pounds fast are: White bread, pasta, anything with white flour in it, baked goods, sugar, junk, sweets, fast food, sodas, hot dogs, starchy veggies and fruit juice. You should eat wheat breads, wheat pasta, and 64 oz of liquid daily. Eat cheeses and poultry and make sure the meat portions are the size of a deck of cards. Make sure to walk every day for at least 15 minutes.
My favorite breakfast is poached eggs on wheat toast or wheat english muffins. I drink some 1% or skim milk with it, maybe even a little grapefruit juice even though I shouldn't. But I lost 10 lbs in less than 2 months from eating what I was told.
I also enjoy oatmeal or farina and later around lunch I have peanut butter on wheat or tuna on wheat plus some yogurt and some cheese. I sometimes have ricotta or cottage cheese.
I strongly urge you to buy those Advantage protein drinks, too! My nutritionist recommends everyone to drink those because PROTEIN is going to help you lose weight. Drink 1 or 2 of those drinks daily in place of a meal. DON'T drink that SlimFast stuff - I was told that and I am telling you.

Weight Watchers actually has some good ideas online for breakfasts. There are a lot of recipes, both from the people that run the program, and from people who use the Points rules or the Core Foods rules to control portion sizes. In general, there's usually a protein involved (egg or egg whites, lean turkey, etc.), a piece of whole grain bread or toast, and a fruit and a calcium choice (milk, lowfat cottage cheese, whatever). You can make a lot of different things with eggs, and since veggies are generally 0 Points, you can make some KILLER omelets for relatively few points. And smoothies rock -- lowfat yogurt, ice, and some fruit.... add a scoop of protein powder or the weight watchers stuff, and you've got a pretty nutritionally-complete shake. mix it up and have fun with it, because once you learn the portion-size of things, it gets really easy to make your own stuff up.

Oatmeal is amazing!
You could also try and egg, toast and sugar-free syrup.. I know it sounds odd, but its really tasty and only 3 or 4 points.
I was on the weight-watchers program and mainly had Oats (2 packs instant with water.. or you could use skim milk), Wheat Toast (The double-fiber is really good.. only 50 calories per slice or 1 point for 2), and some sort of fruit for breakfast.
I also recommend Kashi food.. I love their cereal and oats.
Good Luck, WW helped me develop good eating habits.. and i loved it!

well, everyday I have the same breakfast because protein keeps you full longer than cereal. I have a egg, cooked in the microwave and then add it to some low fat cottage cheese, to that I add some chicken seasoning. Sounds strange but I love it and don't feel hungry until lunch time. If you cook the egg in the micro, you have to prick holes in the egg yolk so it doesn't blow up. Give it a try, you might like it!

protein is sposed to be good for breakfast. i like peanut butter or nutella toast. yogurt is good because of the cultures. turkey and sausage bacon are actually pretty good once u get used to them. smoothies with fresh or frozen fruit are good to. all i put in mine are soy milk, yogurt, a banana and some frozen mixed fruit, random amounts of all. i think most smoothie recipes have too much added sugar and stuff
