Serious answer: the egg, because the egg resulted from the breeding of two birds that were not completely chickens and a slight mutation occurred and the result was the first completely chicken inside the egg.
How do you know it was completely chicken? Because when it came time to cross the road, it wouldn't go.

Depending on your point of view, religious beliefs, and all that other relatively unimportant stuff, if you go from a Christian standpoint, the chicken came first, who then (through God's own personal invitro experiments) laid the egg.
From a philosophical standpoint, the Egg came first, and from that Egg came not only the chicken, but other such egg-born creatures.
But all in all, there is no true answer. Either answer you go with is true, if it's what you believe. The joy of aporia.

it is definitely really basic to respond to, in accordance with evolution the egg had to come back first. Evolution works like this: There are moderate variations contained in the genetic suggestion of the sex cells (i.e. eggs and sperm) of persons that are surpassed on to the offspring of any 2 parents. those variations contained in the genetic makeup are observed as mutations. Mutations can both have: a million) A deleterious result on the offspring (genetic complications would upward push up, many circumstances those are deadly); 2) in certain situations those mutations may be useful, making a individual extra in good structure than its pals (it is often referred to as conferring an earnings); or 3) those mutations can haven't any result, making no change from determine to progeny. contained in relation to the poultry, it must have developed from something else that grew to change right into a lot less in good structure than the poultry and finally starting to be extinct. The poultry grew to change right into a poultry from this different organism by mutations that equipped up by the years in next generations. even if, in spite of the genetic makeup that finally grew to change into defined as a poultry, that particular changed into first conceived and developed in an egg earlier being hatched. The egg and sperm that fused to produce the poultry did not pass the era of gestation interior of an egg that had developed contained in the fowl kin 1000's of thousands of years earlier the poultry got here alongside. So the straightforward answer to this question is the egg got here first -- till you've self belief in fairy memories?

seriously? the egg. the egg held a dinosaur with a mutation (natural selection) and for some reason that mutation is supposed to help that species later on. really, a dinosaur can't just change into a chicken, it has to slowly progress into that species! i asked my science teacher that once!
