Let's see, billions of dollars have been pumped into a previously obscure science. Thirty years ago, there were a couple of hundred climatoligist, now everyone is an "expert". Seems to me, if I am a scientist, I am going to promote AGW in order to advance my career. Where does a lot of the money come from? Let's see. The other beneficiary, governments, and UN. The UN abviously has an agenda to promote AGW. They stand to lead the "world Governing" taxation body. Sure would be nice to be able to fund people who will in turn allow me to take over vast sums of money. Other beneficiaries, governments. Name one government which does not attempt to extort more money from its citizens? Every government has a benefit from promoting AGW in order to enrich their coffers.

The entire system is being promoted by those most in position to benefit. Must be nice.

Thor,
If scientist really were just following the science, then why are they so secretive of their methods? Luckily, we have very intelligent people who are willing to recreate their work and disprove it. Normally in science, the original scientist will allow others to review the work. But not with today's AGW enthusiasts. Look at Mann's work, or Nasa Godard institute. Both of these studies had to be recreated from the results backward because the methods were not given to other scientists to prove or disprove. And of course, both of these were found to be erroneous

Al Gore is co-founder and director of Generation Investment Management Corporation, established to receive carbon payments. Now, he is getting his gullible minions to vote for laws requiring us to make carbon payments.

If you follow the money, Gore and his investors have schemed to make bank off this.

It is interesting that those promoting global warming cannot see that promotion of gloom and doom is always favored over theories that suggest everything is fine. If you promote gloom and doom, then of course more study and financing is required. Then politicians jump aboard to claim they are leading the way to help save people while finding ways to extort money in taxes and fees and campaign contributions. It is pretty sickening how science gets hijacked by these sorts of things.

Fear sells. People working in fields marketing green energy and politicians lobbying for green poilcies will benefit. A sort of witch hunt will ensue to root out people who oppose global warming.

It is incontestable that the Earth is warming up. There is also strong correlation between CO2 emissions and temperature. However, the question of how much of it is man-made and how it will impact human life is open.
