okay, a few years ago like 5, 6 years ago i use to hit high notes, my throat was capable of resisting, ofcurse my throat would hurt alittle afterwards,....but then days later i used my vioce for 'screamo', i think i crossed the line,...my throat hurted and it took more than usual to stop,...i havent sang since, my voice became deeper and thick..at first i thought it was just something to do with puperty that changed my vioce....but i still havent been able to hit those hight notes......i heard that if you force your voice too much you could lose it,...but can you bring it back??can i still get surgery to fix my vocal cords if i damage them after years??any thought about this?any comment would really help me tanx!

it wasnt just one time that i tryed screamo, but that time was my last one :/

Your voice changes with time and hormones. It has been my experience htat peoples voices get deeper as they mature.

Also, to hit those high notes, you have to stay in practice. Singing is like any other sport. If you don't practice, not only do you not get better, but you do get worse. I would avoid the screamo since it does damage your vocal cords. If you can, hire a professional vocal coach to expand your range and improve your technic.

Oh, and you can get surgery to 'fix' your vocal cords, but they will never be the same. Julie Andrews had surgery and can barely sing now. Its not like getting a brand new set. They work worse than they ever did afterwards.

dont think you damaged them just by singing screamo one time

and yeah if u force your voice too much it gets hoarse sounding and you wont hit high notes anymore...
the lead singer of Avenged sevenfold had to get surgery on his vocal cords cuz they were damaged from screaming so much
