I personally would keep it. For the small amount of extra money, you'd be starting over with benefits and everything, besides not knowing what your getting into--may hate it (of course may like to too, but......). Take the new position (promotion, that is!)! + Good Luck!!!

Well the only way to answer that one is to figure out do you need the money or not. another job paying $1-4 more an hour is a big difference at teh end of the year. are you sure going to assistant mamager will be so laid back. this is the spot that you have to do and know more then the others under you but cant take total control since that is up to the manager and many time you hav eto do the work they do not want to do.
I am not sure what line of work you do but unless it is something that takes no skill and is so easy and no stress NO way would I be an assistant manager for $11 an hour.

Natalie, this is a tough one. For me job satisfaction is everything. I went from making $180,000 a year to making $14,000 a year because I though it was the right thing to do for me and my family. I do not travel now, I am with them all the time, I have no stress, etc. BUT I worked for many years and saved a lot of money first.
You have to evaluate where you are in life. Noone likes change, even if it means 3 or 4 bucks more an hour. You may LOVE your new job and wonder why you ever had doubts or you may HATE it and wonder why you ever changed.
You will never know unless you try it.
I think you need to look at your own personal financial situation, think about what you want this year, next year and 5 years from now and see which path will get you there quicker.
Maybe this is not a time in your life where you should be "laid back". Maybe it is. For me it is, but I worked my behind off to get here and I am old.
Good luck. Go with your gut.

a couple dollars more an hour wont make up for the pains in the asses you'll more than likely run into... You know how hard it is to find a job you like these days? Ask anyone! 9 out of 10 hates their job! Keep your job with that promotion, eventually you'll get better money!

The thing is that you never know what your new job will be like. You may like it too. If you don't need the money that much, stay where you are and enjoy it. If you do need the money, go for it.

More money and you know nothing about the atmosphere.
Stay where you are, get the experience and then go elsewhere when you know you won't be able to get any higher.
