Abram later became Abraham

Gen 17:5:Neither shall thy name any more be called Abram, but thy name shall be Abraham; for a father of many nations have I made thee.

Yup, it was Dave.
Tradition at the time by the Jews was to use the second letter of the father's name to be the first letter of the child's name. Hence from Dave, they got Abraham (note the A's). That tradition was quickly dropped soon after as it was difficult to follow.

He was the third son of Terah, a descendant of Shem son of Noah, you can read it in Genesis chapter 11 verse 26
