I have Windows Vista Home Premium and my friend gave me a new XP Professional that he never use. Is it worth it to downgrade?

no. I have vista and i love it. If anything dual boot vista and xp if u really need xp.

If there's some programs that are not working in your computer you can downgrade it, I know several people who downgrade the Windows from Vista to XP because several issues with programs not running well.

You can keep Vista and Dual Boot with Linux Ubuntu 7.10, its free and is better than Vista in many repects. Check out these sites for details:

That way you can use Vista at a later date if you want to.
