If its only 5 days old why isnt the mother feeding it.
Ok... If you are feeding it the formula that is a powder mix make sure you are mixing it correctly. But aside from that kittens tend to have a diarrhea like loose stool for the first one or two weeks.

Diarrhea in a kitten can easily become fatal, but there can be a number of causes. If your kitten seems lethargic, then get her to a vet immediately. In the meanwhile, I have posted a couple of links that may guide you.

From the second link:

Loose Stools or Diarrhea - Decrease the amount of formula fed to each kitten
by 25% and add one-teaspoon “plain” yogurt to the formula. As stated above, if the
kitten has started on wet kitten food and develops loose bowels or diarrhea, decrease
the amount of wet food added to formula until the kitten’s system can tolerate the rich
kitten food. If the rectum area appears red and irritated, you may apply a small
amount of Vaseline on the area to assist with discomfort. Consult your veterinarian if
diarrhea is severe or present for longer than 24 hours.

Since you are dealing with an orphan kitten, I have posted a third link that contains important information on orphan kittens.

Where's mama? If mama isn't around to feed/CLEAN "it", and you're having to feed "it" (you said her and him!), then be sure you don't feed it too much at one time, but OFTEN(every couple of hrs, for awhile)! The best replacement milk that I've found is KMR, and I always used the canned (premixed) for newborns. You can switch to the powder form later, if you want to. The best advice I can give you is...............call your vet!! It's possible that the kitten has something else wrong, and needs to be seen by the vet. If mama died when this kitten was born, it may have picked up a "bug" from the birth canal....better to be safe than sorry. Good luck................

Stress is one cause of diarrhea. Cats prefer peace and quiet to loud noises. Travel also stresses cats, as it often means leaving familiar territory, beyond which are unfamiliar noises and smells, different air quality, humidity, water, possibly even food- any one of which can throw off your cats’ now delicate GI balance.

not to have orange diarrhoea as you stated in your last question it isnt! the mother should be cleaning them and feeding them reguarly. if she isnt there is either something wrong with her or the kittens. are you really going to take the chance that i might be wrong? you need to phone the vet for advice. if you dont and anything happens then you only have yourself to blame.
