Here are some reasons, when they are made, they move down the conveyor belt easier, they blow up into bottles easier, less chance of air pockets, they pack better and take up less space. For consumers they are easier to hold, store, stack and less likely to tip! Now that being said, I had no idea what kind of bottle you were asking about bc, you said round on bottom, so I just answered about bottles in general!

For the same reason there are bottles that are square at the bottom.

way back before they began mas producing them they were hand blown and round was easier to produce. Now the rounded corners on the bottom of the corners are less likely to chip or brake.
