Syndrome is almost a synonym for disease. Fibromyalgia syndrome(FMS) is also called fibromyalgia and was previously known as fibrositis. The name was changed because FMS is now understood to be a chronic pain syndrome, not an inflammatory disease.
If your angle is that syndrome has some sort of negative connotations, then you are mislead. Syndrome is the combination of signs and symptoms associated with a particular morbid process, which together constitute the picture of a disease or inherited anomaly.

It depends on the definition!
Disease: Illness or sickness often characterized by typical patient problems (symptoms) and physical findings (signs).
Condition: The term "condition" has a number of biomedical meanings including the following:
An unhealthy state, such as in "this is a progressive condition."
Syndrome: A set of signs and symptoms that tend to occur together and which reflect the presence of a particular disease or an increased chance of developing a particular disease. For example, the constellation of numbness of the neck, arms, and back with headache, dizziness, profuse sweating, and palpitations after eating Chinese food laden with monosodium glutamate (MSG) strongly suggests the Chinese restaurant syndrome.
The above is from a Medical Dictionary.
Fibromyalgia: A syndrome characterized by chronic pain, stiffness, and tenderness of muscles, tendons, and joints without detectable inflammation. Fibromyalgia does not cause body damage or deformity! However, undue fatigue plagues the large majority of patients with fibromyalgia and sleep disorders are common in fibromyalgia. Fibromyalgia is considered an arthritis-related condition. However, it is not a form of arthritis (a disease of the joints) since it does not cause inflammation in the joints, muscles, or other tissues or damage them. But fibromyalgia can (like arthritis) cause significant pain and fatigue and it can similarly interfere with a person's ability to carry on daily activities.
Hope that helps?
