until the skin is flayed from their bones and she no longer flaunts herself in front of men showing off her ankle or something

First of all they are not struck with a whip but with a cane. I was forced to see a young woman who had been repeatedly raped by a family of men get 100 strikes. She was unconscience after about 40 then she was thrown into prison without medical attention. this happened in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia.

In Christ
Fr. Joseph

Ibrahim,

The woman I spoke of did break the law but here are the circumstances. She was hired as a Filipina domestic worker for a family of 6, a mother, father and 4 adult sons. When she came to work her passport was taken away as well as her airline ticket to return home. She was kept as a virtual prisoner and repeatedly raped by the father and the adult sons. Finally she defended herself against the father and stabbed him giving him only a superficial wound. He had her arrested and she was sentenced to 100 lashes and a prison term. The males that raped her received no punishment. Does this sound like the laws of a civilized nation?

According to ISLAMIC law - NONE
according to local cultures/honor thats different. some guys are jerks and should be shot. The law in Saudi that sentenced that girl to 200 lashes is cruel (not even islamic) the judge will face God for what he did to her.
In the old testament - if you get raped in the city and dont cry out the law was to be stoned to death. If it was in an isolated place you got to marry your rapist (after he paid your father some silver and promised never to divorce you)
Arent we glad those days are over?!
Hopefully Saudi and its stupid unislamic laws will reform. And soon.

Up to physical death, depending on the case.

If a woman cannot provide four witnesses against the rape she could be charged with adultery. So essentially the woman must be gang-raped with snitches, because there is no way a rapist is going to attack a woman around other men (in the few cases where rapists are prosecuted, there could be the amputation of body parts -- so he would want to keep things quiet).

So basically she's screwed.

Is there any wonder why Saudi Arabia has such a low rate of rapes reported each year? No woman with a brain would speak up against an attack when her government is full of Bronze Age barbarians and the Koran backs them up.

Don't you love Islam? Or when men are in charge of a religion and claim it's the rule of god?

The worst thing is that some women support Shariah law. I heard one lady say that the ban on female drivers on Saudi Arabia was a way for men to protect them from interacting with non-Muslim or unrelated males! Great system, huh?

To answer the likes of ibrahim and other islamo-fascists - human rights override the restrictions of any imposed laws of any religions or ideologies. This includes freedom of worship, freedom of speech and assembly and the right to a fair trial, irrespective of gender, race, colour or sexual proclivity. Also that any sentence carried out should not include cruel or unusual punishment (ie torture). These are the tenets of Amnesty International which represents the rights and freedoms of victims of ideologies worldwide, with saudi arabia, turkey, pr china, burma being in the vanguard for such atrocity. What ibrahim is saying is torture is ok if it is enshrined in the country's laws upheld by his religion.
My judgement? obscene and iniquitous!
omg just seen 'londonpeter' that puts Ibrahim's insanity into a cocked hat. Listen Pete boy, you need to get medical assistance before you cause serious harm to yourself or others. Report him everyone!..nutter alert!..care in the community is not working!

Under Islamic law none, and the rapist is sent to death. Under any other law who cares its man made it changes with the way people feel.

As salaamu 'alaikym.

Insha'Allah, none.

However, if a woman deliberately breaks the law that says unmarried men and women should not socialize or mix together except under strict and tradtional guidelines, especially if she knowingly and deliberately break this law, she will be punished in some nations accoriding to their law.

If a person attempts to force the judical system of a nation to bend to her will instead of following the laws of that nation by going to the national and international media, even after having been advised not to do so, her punishment may be increased.

You are referring ot the case from Saudi Arabia where a young woman, who admits to knowing the law in that nation that she chose to disregard, did knowingly and with forethought freely choose to break the law. She had admitted to the same.
Further, after having been advised not to do so by the courts, she went to the national and internaitonal media in an attempt to force the courts to change their verdict. She also freely admits to this.

She is and was living in a nation that has such laws and it is in the best interest of all persons who reside there or who may choose to visit there to learn the laws and customs of that nation in exactly the same manner that we, in the USofA, would and do expect our citizens and all visitors to abide by our laws, rules, regualtions and customs.

She was not wrongfully convicted as she admits to committing the crimes.

It is never wise to judge another nation and the culture of the same by standards other than their own. Think of how many other nations judge the morality or lack there of in this nation. If your judgment is just and fair, then so is theirs.

Ma'a salaam

None, true muslim men and women are very respectful and respected of each other. Not all and not in Saudi Arabia. So that's just another one of their problems.

We must help people(s) who think Faith is a Good thing , not blame them.

As a Christian would you allow yourself to be forced to commit blasphemy ( the unforgivable sin ) – or would you commit suicide ?

Muslim women do not allow themselves to be raped – Given the choice they would rather die .

Any ‘ Muslim ‘ woman who was raped was not given the choice to die ... or was not a Muslim.

Faith is bad for society and everyone in it ... especially women.

well let me tell u something

if the lady was raped acciedently, like say she was walking and some1 raped her then she cant be punished, she is a victim.

but when a lady goes into the guy car alone and knowing that something might happen and then she get raped she will be punished but it will not be deadly punishment. its just because she put herself into this situation.
a women and a man alone in car so rape is expected outcome espacially in a strict country like saudia where men dont see women much
