I would hope so. It's about separating their religion from government policies.

Non-Christians shouldn't have to conform to theistic assumptions about the so-called ensoulment of a fertilized egg...

Pro-Choice is just that - The freedom to have or not to have an abortion. And I don't think a priest should be able to make that choice for the women affected by unwanted pregnancy. When people stop throwing toddlers into dumpsters or neglecting their kids, then we can consider unrealistic dogma.

Abortion is, essentially, oppression. Everyone who supported slavery was free. Likewise, everyone who supports abortion was born.

I think in select cases abortion may be justifiable, such as rape or incest, especially with young girls. However, if you're a Christian you should remember that God has a purpose behind everything. Do you really think he would allow someone to get pregnant if he didn't have a plan for that child ?

I think that pro-choice conflicts with the Christian faith, but so do a lot of things. And a lot of Christians partake in those other things. Accepting Christ into your heart is what makes you a Christian. And nothing can change that. However, as a Christian, you should want to carry out His will and please Him. Do you think that abortion does that ?

If by "pro-Choice" you mean "personally in favor of having no legal restrictions on medically un-necessary abortions", then I don't know how that is possible. Jesus Christ calls us to a life of compassion and sacrificial love. How does the dehumanization of unborn infants fit in with that?

Abortions are performed without anesthesia on the infant, using ghastly techniques that would NEVER be allowed on the most hardened murderer on Death Row! Children are chopped up, burned, beheaded, suffocated, vacuumed to bits, and have their brains sucked out--all before birth. Their remains are NOT allowed to be buried: only legally recognized persons are allowed to be buried. Aborted infants are incinerated.

All for $350 per procedure.

How does that jive with Christian Theology? It doesn't. To be "pro-Choice" in that sense, is to support the above as a legal alternative to giving birth.

A "true Christian" is a Baptized person. No more, no less. Being a Christian is something that God does TO us in the Sacrament of Holy Baptism...it is nothing we can do on our own...that is the meaning of Eph. 2:8-9.

That being said...we should leave the "good, bad, true, false" questions up to God and not judge.

Yes, my husband is christian and pro-choice. He has the sense to know that it is not up to him to make decisions for others.

True Christian(TM)? Probably not. Christian, certainly. YHWH places no value on infants less than a month old.

Yes
Where the spirit of the Lord is, there is liberty. Not Bondage. Not putting people under law. It's amazing the GOOD CHOICES people make when they don't have shame and condemnation hanging over them. I'm a Galations girl.
