i run windows xp and for whatever reason the control panel has changed from the default view to just a tab view and i can't figure out how to get it back. i thought there would be a "switch to classic view" option like in vista but i can't find it anywhere....any ideas?

Open your control panel. On the left you should see the control panel icon and the words Control Panel and a circle with 2 arrows pointing down. click on the circle to open a drop down menu, the change view option should be there. hope this helps.

L O L, its still there, u just need to look. open my computer and look on the left, in "other place" u should see it. another way is to right click the taskbar, click properties, then at teh top of the window that popped up, click start menu, then midway down under the pic, click costomize, then open the advanced tab. the first option is control panel. select display as link. this will work for sure. im positive.

The Control Panel is in truth just a "folder" of executables...so you might try diddling the "View" or "Folders" items in the Menu bar, if they're visible...
