I have a 720p/1080i 26" Samsung LCD HDTV. I am very pleased with it. Theres no need for 1080p unless your going to go with something bigger than 32". I have a PS3 as well, and the picture is very very good. Call of Duty 4 looks amazing at 720p. The picture quality is much better, everything is more fluid, and if you have a good game or a Blu-ray movie you can really see the difference. I would say that its worth it to spend maybe $700 for a 26" and maybe $900 for a 32", Don't go with 1080p, its a waste, nothing is in 1080p yet except Blu-ray or PS3. TV is still 1080i at best. Also, especially with a smaller TV, you would not notice the difference between 720p & 1080p if you saw them side by side.

I bought a 32in 720p/1080i LCD for my PS3 in my room. It's great.
I think Sharp and Samsung make 32inch 1080p HDTVs.

The picture quality will be substantially improved, but it's really a shame you can't get 1080p. I'd say go for it if you've got cable/satellite broadcasting in HD or have an HD tuner to get your local channels in HD.

to tell you the truth my t.v. isn't even hd or at least isn't set up to display in hd, and it still looks amazing. of course it would'nt hurt to get a wide screen t.v. since that's how most ps3 games display

Oh. Hell Yes.
No really it will... and take up less space in the room (being flat to the wall and all that)
Go get one.
