Okay, heres the deal. I sent out four resumes (via email) on this past Monday and have not received anything in response. I am wondering is this normal, should I wait longer, or should I send another email? I hope someone can PLEASE help me. I am VERY interested in all of the jobs and need something asap! Thanks in advance!!!!

TO EVERYONE WHO SAYS I NEED TO WALK THE RESUME IN MYSELF! It is modern days! You yourself are answering QUESTIONS on the internet...such a hyprocrite. ALL of the jobs I found online and they only provided an email address.

Believe me, this happens all too often. If you've sent the resume to the right address and they haven't replied to you, they've either all ready found the candidates they want, or they simply didn't like yours for whatever reason. Furthermore, rarely do they ever send an E-mail reply. If they like you, they'll call you.

Secondly, I know it's modern days, but people send in so many resumes these days, most companies have electronic resume filters", these are automatic computer programs that automatically search resume E-mails for specific requirements (or lack therof) and delete the ones that don't make the cut. Wen you send a resume via E-mail, you take the risk of not making it past these filters. If, however, you print out your resume and take it to the company directly, at least then you know they're actually going to read it.

If you mean Monday two days ago, that isn't long, so I'd wait awhile. And even last week Monday, with the short holiday week, it's not real long. If you don't hear anything by the end of the week, you could send another email saying something like "I sent a resume for the position of xxxxxx on (date) and wanted to be sure that you had received it". If they got a lot of applicants, they might still be going through them. Sometimes two or three different people review all the applicants to decide who to interview - that can take a week or two.

Four days isn't that long. We have an opening that I'm hiring for, and I'm lucky if I can review resumes from two weeks ago. Things take time - if you're that antsy, wait at least a full week and email Monday to inquire whether the position is still open, and express your continued interest.

Unfortunately, this being the modern days, it's much more of a "don't call us, we'll call you" kind of world. They no doubt have the resumes, but it's entirely possible that you will get no response or confirmation from them That's the way it is today.
