Consulting wikipedia, I see that iron is 7.86 grams per cubic centimeter. There are 454 grams per pound. 454/7.86 = about 57.76 cubic centimeters of iron to a pound. There is 2.54^3 = 16.387 cubic centimeters per cubic inch, so

57.76/16.387 = 3.525 cubic inces is 1 pound of iron. So you could say a 1 inch x 1 inch square rod, 3.525 inches long.

You need the density of Fe. You will most likely find that in units of grams per cubic centimeter. Then you need to know how many grams = one pound. You should be able to find values for the density of the elements by checking Wikipedia.

good luck

Your question is vague. I pound iron should make one pound. Do you need conversion to some other unit?
