Is there any instances where God does something, directly, or indirectly to influence a persons life? Obviously there are stories where he talks to people, like Noah. But are there instances where he does something that directly influences an individuals life. I'm not looking for things like the flood, since that obviously influences a lot of lives. But like lets say someone was about to do something, and God does something to change or stop that.

thanks.

Acts 12
Herod wanted to kill Peter and had Peter imprisoned. God sent an angel to save Peter.

Herod was about to do something (kill Peter), God did something (sent an angel to save Peter). Therefore, Herod did not kill Peter.

For the full account read chapter 12 in Acts.

Then there's Jonah, Amos, Hosea, there are many accounts, a lot are too lengthy to list here.

One of the best known examples: When he tested Abraham's faith by asking him to sacrifice his son. Later, when Abraham was about to he directly interceded and told him to stop. "Do not kill the boy" he said.

Then there was Moses who was always getting direction from God about what to do and what to say.

Jonah who was directed to preach a message of judgment to the Ninevites. Jonah went in the opposite direction but ultimately did as he was told. He wasn't happy about the results by the way.Phillip was sent to preach to an Ethiopian eunuch.

Job. God punishes him beyond belief, purely for kicks. Check it out, it's gruesome.
