It's for exactly that reason that the Jews don't view Jesus as the Messiah...The Scriptures don't support him, he is false. In fact the Jews had been chosen to be the Messiah...listen carefully and if you're Biblical at all you'll know what I speak of. I am sure you're aware of the phrase that refers to the Jews as 'chosen people', right? If not I assure you that reference is made in several places in the OT.
The question had arisen as to what the Jews were chosen for...Keep the Gates of Heaven in the end of days is one view. I submit that is not correct or is only part of the deal...The Jews were chosen to serve as living, breathing penance for the ongoing sins of humanity...Hence the continuing suffrage of the Jews as a people. Scripture bears out this theory. PEACE!

First of all I do not say Jesus will not rebuild the Temple nad make a universal government ruled by the Jews because that is not what He will do. Jesus mission was to come to earth to die as a sacrifice for the sins of mankind.

His Kingdom is no part of this world.
It is the government in heaven that will rule the earth, not man.
Man can never bring about world peace, only the Father, Yahwah God will under His TESTED Son's 1000 year reign along with the chosen 144,000 kings and priests that gained entry to heaven as adopted spirit sons of God.
Then the Kingdom will go back to our Heavenly, Most Holy, King of kings, The Eternal Father, Loving Yahwah God.

Your question was posed almost identically during the Disputation of Barcelona of 1263 debating whether Jesus was the Messiah. King James I of Aragon after-wards honored the Antagonist (Rabbi Moshe ben Nahman Gerondi, often abbreviated as Ramban) with having won the debate stating that he was the greatest speaker that is wrong.

When you have a taste of your own "inner" Peace, you will understand that , "He DID"! The Kingdom, as Jesus said, "Is Within". If you are not within, you are without!
Peace and Blessings....
