I went to Catholic grade school and was taught that God is omniscient, which means that He's all-knowing. I was also told that He's omnipotent, which means that He's all-powerful. It stands to reason that He's all-good. When it comes to belief in God, though, child rape is a big problem for me.
If God is all-knowing, then He knows that a rape of a child is about to happen. If He's all-powerful, it means that it's within His ability to stop it. If He's all-good, it means that He would want to stop it.
Why, then, does He not stop little kids from being raped?

I see that a lot of the asnwers have to do with free will. I knew that would happen, because that's the same old answer given by religious people when they're faced with a tough question; i.e. they give answers that sound like they belong on a fortune cookie: it's free will, God works in mysterious ways, we're not meant to understand, God won't give you a cross you can't bear, ad nauseum.
My question is more specific:
If God is all-knowing, all-powerful, all-good, and perfect, then why did He create people who have the kind of free will which makes them capable of raping little children? Why not make people without THAT particular kind of free will?

can you even imagine the consequences that lay ahead for the person who raped a child? or raped anyone of any age for that matter? This is the very price we have to pay for free will. Compromises have to be made.. and the price for free will is heavy.. God gave us a free choice in molding our belief systems and values.. That person chose the wrong path. And you being a human can never understand God's great design. Everything happens for a reason. Why are their diseases? If there were no diseases the human population would be of such magnitude that this world would be depleted of resources within the next year. What you have to keep in mind that this world is nothing.. but a test. A test that results in an eternity of life. Death is just a passing and only those who have failed life's test would fear it. God has his ways of doing things. Rich people get richer.. poor people get poorer. is that fair? well ofcourse not? but life isnt fair. and thats the real beauty of it. If life was fair it would get boring very soon... Indeed rich people get richer but what do they get?? A lifetime of family problems? Divorces? Greed for more money? Is it worth it? Think
Free will comes with a cost. And i think its well worth it.
If you feel strongly about children getting raped. Then do something about it. You have the free will to choose to go into Law Enforcement to prevent crimes such as Rape. Its in your hands. Its in our hands. Dont blame GOD for human weaknesses.

PEOPLE do that. God has nothing to do with it. He gave people free will, and there are some mean mo's out there.
People ask this almost every day. If God is real, why are people mean? Why do bad things happen?
Do you want God to strike them dead as they are about to rape someone? How about as they are about to rob a bank, He strikes them dead?
I am just asking. What do you want Him to do?
That would interfere with the free will He gives us all.
What if He struck all who did not believe with cancer?
It seems to me that some would complain that they had no free will because they were scared he's zap em.....
It is as God is darned if He does and darned if He doesn't with some people.
I agree......Child rape,,,,,or ANY rape, for that matter, is horrid, and the rapist ought to be castrated, IMO.

The god and goddess has given man kind the gift of FREE WILL. In which they will not inter fear with , so the god and goddess are not the ones to blame . Its others .
in the Wicca religion such parasites would be punished 3 times worse .

Because HE IS GOD not a security guard or a cop..why does he offer heaven or hell if HE had to stop all the sins from committing? He has set free the human being to do whatever we want here in world with knowledge or god n bad..rest depends on us which path we choose n we will get reward for that in the day of judgement

God does to exsist God doesnt control us... he just watches over us if thhe children prayed everyday he would keep it from happing to them... So i feel really sorry for all the people who dont balive in God because they will be burning in hell and so just take jesus as ur savior then u get to live in heavin very soon. i balive God will come in about 10 years or even less so be ready all the time...

Free will, its a very difficult thing to handle, but we have it and that means we can either be good or bad and I know it sucks (child rape and any kind of crime)

well god gave us free will. that is the beautiful thing. he allows us to choose and allows you to doubt him him. He knew before you were even born that you would ask this question. he hates the fact that these things happen.
the problem is there is this guy named satan and he has power over us as well. especially those who are not enlightened. sometimes satan gets the best of these creeps and they do terrible things. They will get their judgment day, and so will you. keep praying and keep believeing and everyone will get what they deserve.
