I saw a question earlier asking why creationism isn't taught in american schools. This got me thinking and my question for those intelligent design people out there is this: what do you teach? I'm trying to envision a class period devoted to ID, that doesn't involve a specific religion (If you teach one, you gotta teach 'em all). What would the teacher talk about? God, an omnipotent being, made everything you see in an instant. Where do you go after that if you're not going to inject specific religions?

There's really no way to teach ID or creationism without getting all religious. So it isn't taught in American schools.

I don't believe for a second that a 5th grader came up with the bit about the best selling book. But even if she did, does that make it correct? Dictators are often quite popular. Does that make them good?

Really, the fight isn't about teaching creationism. It's about NOT teaching evolution.

When my daughter was in 5th grade, she was asked a question about evolution. She said, "The best selling book on the subject says the world was created. Unless you can prove me wrong, you better give me credit for this answer."

She got credit.

(I had nothing to do with this. We never really discussed the issue.)

Intelligent Design cannot be taught in Public Schools in America.

The Federal Court in Dover Pennsylvania found it to not be science and actually a thinly veiled attempt to re-name Creationism.

The Tennessee courts found that Intelligent Design is just Creationism disguised as science. Sorry, no go.

You can't. All religions have their own version of creation. You teach one, you have to teach them all.
