My 2 year-old had a HUGE temper tantrum when I took all his toys away to re-wrap them for Christmas this year.

Should he get them back on the 25th, or is a sound bashing in order?

A fine idea, got_air, but taking the toys away to rewrap them is what caused the tantrum in the first place. Selfish kids. Whew.

Oh my Mr. Bill...If I might make a suggestion, take the toys he doesn't play with any more and re-wrap them. He won't miss or remember them in most cases and this technique has saved me thousands of $$ over the years.

2007 has been a very bad year financially. We were unable to purchase any gifts for anyone, including my children (ages 12, 16 & 17). Yet I have to say that I did receive the best gift in the world, and that is the love of my family, friends AND my children. Everyone has been so understanding! To be "fair" we tried to let everyone know that we would be unable to purchase gifts this year. Everyone was understanding, and perhaps the most amazing thing is that my children were more than understanding as well. We spent Christmas day together just talking, eating, playing games and having a great time. What better gift could someone ask for?

That selfish child! I'm not much into 'bashings' but I do believe sitting him in a room for a year with Englebert Humperdinck music playing constantly on his earphones might do the trick. Nothing against old Engley, the name just seemed to fit.

Selfish children. Don't even appreciate their toys rewrapped on Christmas. What IS this world coming to? :-O

Ho ho ho.

That sounds mean... I know you have your own way of discipline, but spoiling Christmas is not the answer. Why are you wrapping all his toys for Christmas anyways? That doesn't make any sense since it's toys he already owns. Why wouldn't you go out and buy him surprise things to open on Christmas like everyone else does? I may be misunderstanding your question.

Why did you let him play with them in the first place is my question.
Because it was a bit silly to let him play with them and then take them off him to re-wrap.
*sighs*
