Endobronchial ultrasound is a technique that uses a thin flexible telescope-like instrument called bronchoscope with an ultrasound probe attached inserted via the patient's mouth into the lungs to obtain images of the region between the two lungs (the mediastinum).

Such technique makes it possible to do biopsies of suspected lung cancer lesions that are more targeted and precise than ever.
