I was recently told by my cable provider that my current analog cable running through the house would need to be updated for digital cable for maximum picture quality. I really don't want to spend hundreds of $$$ to rewire my home with digital. Is there another option? Wireless cable transmitters perhaps (kind of like wifi except with TV Cable)? Is that even invented yet? Thanks!

What I mean by the wireless is; is there anything out there that acts like a wireless bridge? Like you can get a wireless bridge for ethernet cables, could you get one for your TV cable?

The cable wiring itself is only about 15 years old, as it was put in when the house was built. Can digital cable be carried on the same wires we've been using for 15 years?

are you sure you understood them correctly? the wires them selfs..are no different between digital and analog.

what they may mean is your wires are OLD and need to be replaced no matter what...

no there is no wireless cable technology

in most cases much of the gear(boxes, convereters) are provided by the company giving you service..

i suspect you have really old wiring and that needs to be replaced o matter what

It was probably RG59 which is fine for plain analog TV signals.

But the digital information for the HD signals, and cable modem are much, much, much higher frequency so RG6 is recommended.

Contact some Electrical places near your home that install wiring. Chances are they can simply pull new RG6 coax into some of the rooms by pulling it with the old RG59.

Your CATV company will usually run new coax to 1 room for free.
