Yes. He is who he is NOW, not then. That should show you he has strong character, being that he did turn his life around.

Yes, I would dismiss their past. If they are doing well now, why even have their past in your mind? You should be thinking of the person you see right before your eyes today, not the person they once were before you even knew them. High School represents youth; at that time people are still impressionable and don't make the best choices. Most people change over time, and hopefully the troublemakers as well. Since this person has changed they already have potential for greatness. Don't let their past ruin the person you know right now.

The past is the past and it cannot be changed. If the person is well adjusted and is doing ok now why should their past make a difference. A lot of people do things in the past that they regret, but they can't change it. If they are not troubled now why have the past get in the way of something that could be wonderful?

whats in the past is in the past....don't let old **** change your feelings...you like the guy that he is now...not the guy he was before....just accept him for him and move on. I was a troubled teen myself and people can grow out of it. Teens go through a couple phases....if he is well adjusted now than...let it go and just keep in mind the type of person he is now. Don't judge him for mistakes he has made....

Someone who has gone through a hard time and come through it shows that they are strong and have character. Everyone has a choice when bad things happen, to let the circumstances make or break them. To survive and become a better person for it, is to be admired.
Besides, I would hate to be judged now by the things I did in high school. If we don't make our mistakes when we are young, we will make them later.

As long as they are doing well now. Everyone deserves a chance. But, I wouldn't just dismiss their past, it's a part of them and who they are. Hopefully they learned from it.

Ofcourse! Nobody should be blamed for what happened in hs. Alot of factors beyond their control are thrown at them everyday. What matters is that things are in control now. People do change. Most don't.

It's their past and they are a different person now. If anything, that should show you that they are strong and can work through anything life throws at them. Would you want ppl bringing up any of your sorted past and holding it against you? Commend them for their accomplishments.

Most teens are troubled teens. I was a troubled teen and now I am a well rounded adult. It could just have had to do with age.
