I was invited out by a couple to a 'gig' in town.
There was four of us, my friend, and her new fella, sat in the back of the car, and I sat in the passenger seat. The driver was my 'blind date ', he was driving.
It was years ago, in the 70's, and the car was an old clapped out 'cortina', the driver, he had 'permed hair, flared 'bell bottom' pants, a mustashe, 'Jason King' style.. (for those who will remember them), flowered shirt,which was unbuttoned to the chest, complete with medalian ( I was a 'hippy' then,a real 'flower child').
I say 'gig' cause we were on our way to watch this guy (driver) play his guitar, in a club, I was 17 years old and the youngest in the car.
My date wasn't going too well, my mates fella 'fancied me' (he was sat directly behind me) and kept, slightly pulling my hair, and laughing, he was 21, (and although gorgeous) I was getting annoyed with him at the time.
Before we got to the 'gig', Paul the driver, decided we should go through a carwash, (in those days they weren't as automated as they are now).. Paul opened the drivers window, and put his money in the machine, we started into the 'wash'.. down came the water, the brushes, the soap, but suddenly the handle of drivers window broke off, and Paul couldn't wind it up'..
I'll leave the rest to your imagination.. only to add that, I don't think I've ever laughed or been as wet as much in my life, Pauls hair went frizzy, the mascara on his mustache and eyebrows, ran, his medallian went 'tarnished', and his pants shrunk... my mates guy.. well what can I say, we spent the whole night, drying out, and going hysterical everytime we thought about what had happened.
We got married, three months later and had two beautiful girls...my friend, she was my bridesmaid !!!

At a party, she gave me some money to go to the shop, and I got an electric shock from her !
I only really found out she was the one for me when we split up for about 6 weeks over a stupid argument, and it felt like I'd lost half of my body ! I guess she felt the same, we're now married and going strong after about12 years.

I met my husband in a bar we both used to drink in, it wasn't love at first sight, we all became friends, then he would ask me out on our own, which i declined as i wasn't looking for boyfriend, but eventually i gave in as we always got on well and had a good laugh together, which it still is the same after 11 years of being togther.

I met my beloved 10years ago when i was working in France and he was working in Belgium, we had a 'brief encounter ;-) for few weeks then the following year, I was working in Brussels and was amazed to get a phone call from him ..a mutual friends mother had given him my phone number... and we have been together ever since... (that is the short story!!) great question and it's made me laugh at my memories.. have a star xxx

We met via a blind date set up by a mutual friend. The funny thing is, that mutual friend barely knew either of us. That was 5 years ago...we now have 2 kids, a minivan, and a mortgage! D

I was on a ship in the Mediterranean watching the sunset and he was dressed in his dinner jacket and came over and spoke to me and we chatted as if we had known each other for ever
